Damascus steel: Prices for this unique steel varies depending on the content and complexity of the pattern. I have used a product manufactured by Thunder Forge. They offer three patterns. A single twist, double twist, and a birdseye. I have made both fixed blade, and folders using this steel. It is beautiful, and heat treats very well. I have had skinning knives field tested, and the knives have performed beyond my expectations. this steel holds an edge very well. The cost for this steel will run $10.00 an inch over the cost of carbon or tool steel. To see what this damascus looks like, go to Thunder Forge's web site. Other damascus steel will be based on the cost the manufacturer charges. This decision is yours to make. Again, based on the steels content, and the pattern selected, the cost will vary, and can run as much as $40.00 an inch. There are litterally dozens of other types of steel available. If you have any questions regarding a particular type of steel, please call, and I will be happy to discuss these options

Handle Materials: Exotic woods are most commonly used, and with the exception of snakewood, and many of the burl woods, the price of the basic knife will include the price of these woods. I have many of these types of wood in stock. If you have any questions regarding exotic woods, and whether the cost of the knife will change based on the type of wood you choose please call. The cost of ivory, bone, and mother of pearl will vary based on the size of the slabs required and the grade of the material. Again, call if you are considering these types of handle materials. G-10, and Micarta will be included in the basic price.
